Your dog isn’t “just a pet,” and this isn’t a boring, cookie-cutter photoshoot. These sessions are about capturing personality, the chaos, the elegance, the zoomies, the soulful stares, and everything in between. Whether your dog is a fearless adventurer, a couch-loving goofball, or a dignified old soul, we’ll create bold, expressive images that truly reflect them. Expect a relaxed, playful experience, photos that make you laugh, melt, and maybe brag a little. If you want unforgettable images of your dog living their absolute best life, you’re in the right place.
We can shoot in any public park or urban spot around Toronto, think leafy trails, gritty city textures, or something in between. Before we lock anything in, we’ll talk through the vibe you’re after so we’re aligned on the kind of images we’re creating. Bear in mind, though, that busy locations are visually cool but mentally chaotic, and distractions can make it harder for your pup to stay engaged.
If studio portraits are more your speed, I’ve got you covered there, too. I have a fully equipped home studio with professional lighting, backdrops, and more photography toys than I probably need. Clean, dramatic, controlled, great for dogs who prefer fewer variables and maximum snacks.
Every shoot is built around your dog’s personality and abilities. Amazing images are possible with any pup, but dogs with strong obedience skills are easier to work with than lovable chaos goblins. Safety always comes first, so if your dog can’t be off-leash, no problem. Leashes are easily removed in Photoshop. We’ll absolutely create great images, but specific shots will depend on how cooperative your furry model is feeling that day.
Bring plenty of your dog’s favourite treats, seriously, don’t be shy. Snacks keep things fun, help with focus, and buy us those perfect split-second moments. For longer sessions, we’ll take breaks as needed. Dogs aren’t statues, and once attention starts to fade, forcing it never leads to better photos.
For outdoor shoots, lighting matters. Cloudy days are perfect, or we’ll aim for golden hour when the sun is low and flattering. If the forecast calls for rain, we can reschedule—but sometimes rain brings unexpected magic, and some of the best images happen when things get a little messy.
One quick note on backyards: they feel convenient, but even the most beautifully landscaped yard is usually pretty limiting for a full shoot. There’s often not enough variety to create a strong set of images, and the ever-present fence tends to sneak into the background and instantly kill that dreamy, cinematic vibe we’re going for. Backyards can work for very specific, simple concepts but if you’re after images that feel expansive, polished, and a little magical, parks, urban spaces, or the studio almost always deliver stronger results.
